Life is constantly changing and you never know what’s going to happen next. You might think you have your future all planned out, but the universe might not agree that’s where you’re going. We’ve all been taught that we’re supposed to have a plan for every aspect of our life, when we really have no idea what’s going on. That’s why uncertainty isn’t always a bad thing — and some quotes about uncertainty can help you face your fears.

Uncertainty Is Natural

Feeling uncertain is something that everyone experiences. Uncertainty simply means that you’re living life. The beautiful thing about life is that it’s alright to be uncertain — it’s normal. It’s important to know that you’re not alone.

There’s always pressure to know exactly what you want to do with your life, but it’s rare for someone to actually know every step of what they want. To be honest, planning every step of your life isn’t a great way to live it. You have to be flexible and accept what life brings you. Look at any quotes about uncertainty, and you’ll see they talk about relaxing and accepting not knowing what’s coming next.

If you make plans, chances are something is going to mess them up. Focus on the little things that you can control, like taking specific classes that interest you or applying to jobs that you think you’d enjoy. You don’t need a perfect job or something like that to make your life fulfilling.

Have Faith in Yourself

You might realize at some point that the path you thought you always wanted isn’t the right path for you — and that’s fine. The most important thing is that you’re happy and doing things you’re passionate about. It’s not wrong to change your life course if that’s what makes your life worthwhile.

If you keep working hard and pursuing your passions, you’ll end up on the path you’re meant to be on. Simply because it seems like everyone else around you has things figured out completely doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. Everyone has their own uncertainties as well — even the people who look like they have it all together. There’s almost always cracks behind the surface.

“Be okay with not knowing for sure what might come next, but know that whatever it is, you will be okay.”-Unknown

“Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.”-John Wooden

“You can’t control everything. Sometimes you just need to relax and have faith that things will work out. Let go a little and just let life happen.”-Kody Keplinger

“Don’t call it uncertainty—call it wonder. Don’t call it insecurity—call it freedom.”-Osho

“When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life.”-Eckhart Tolle

“When you try to control everything, you enjoy nothing. Sometimes you just need to relax, breathe, let go and live in the moment.”-Unknown

Embrace the Uncertainty

It’s not something that you’ll ever magically make go away, so learn to accept and embrace it. Enjoy the ride of life and where it takes you. Let uncertainty tell you that you might need to explore some other options for the path you’re on. If you use it to guide you and as a sign to take a second look at things, you could end up happier than if you chose your original path.

Consider your options. If you’ve had your life planned out since you were a child, you will be unsure about some things along the way. It doesn’t have to work out according to your perfect plan. Explore other pathways and see where they take you. It’s fine if you aren’t married by 25 or buying a huge house at 30.

Uncertainty isn’t a bad thing. When you’re feeling lost and unsure, use it as a sign to take a look at your life and see if things are going in a way that’ll make you happy. Read over the quotes above and let them reassure you when things feel overwhelming. You’ll find your right path — and it might require you to go off course.
