Being healthy may, at first, seem a bit unrelated to being productive. What does it matter what you eat or how often you exercise if you’re able to get your projects completed just as well those around you?
Actually, health and fitness matter a lot. Being healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will prolong your life. It makes you feel good about yourself, which can also make you more motivated, productive and self-confident.
Being Healthy Is More Than Not Being Sick
It’s important to understand the difference between not being unhealthy and actually practicing good health habits.
You may not be sick. You may not be obese. However, if you aren’t actively making healthy diet and exercise choices for your lifestyle and future health, you may be putting yourself at risk of a shorter lifespan and less-enjoyable years as you approach old age.
Taking proactive steps to better health can likely make your life more enjoyable and help you get more done on a daily basis. It’s a win-win-win.
Having a healthy diet and exercise routine can give you more energy. Practicing self-care can keep you from feeling stressed and keep your mind strong. Simply taking the time to be more grateful for the good fortunes of your life can make your happier and more hopeful for each day you have, improving your mental health. Why would you not do more to be healthy?
