Anyone remember Palm Pilots? This personal digital assistant (PDA) was the 1996 version of Google Calendar, iCal and other productivity apps that our smartphones store. I guess I was a productivity enthusiast from the beginning because 9-year-old me was so certain that I needed a Palm Pilot to keep track of my busy life that I asked my mom to order one from eBay for my birthday.

I mentioned an application is a form of software, but this software cannot run without system software. Software, on the other hand, can be made up of multiple programs and is the all-encompassing term for the operating information a computer uses.
While hardware is the tangible part of a computer, software is the intangible aspect that makes the program run. A computer without software would have the physicality of hardware but would not be able to run. This would be like if your legs wanted to go for a run but your brain wasn’t sending the message to your legs to start moving.

As we are utilizing our phones to aid productivity and efficiency, apps aid us in optimizing our lives. Productivity apps as a type of app used to perform and simplify essential day to day tasks. These apps vary from person to person but can do anything from forming a productive morning to tracking self-improvement.
An app download is often free and takes about 15 seconds, so why wouldn’t we try out recommended apps that have the potential to increase our productivity and happiness. The apps that will aid in productivity vary among individuals and their goals.
